Erudus

Call to adventure

With food allergies affecting more children and adults than ever before, accurate ingredient information has become paramount to public safety - from school canteens to restaurants. Erudus was created to revolutionise how detailed food product data is shared throughout the supply chain, ensuring that everyone who needs this vital information can access it easily and reliably. Erudus needed a brand that could convey both their technological innovation and their role in public safety.

Challenge

Working alongside designer Naomi Atkinson, we faced a complex branding challenge: how do you create a brand that speaks clearly to multiple audiences - from food manufacturers to school catering teams - while conveying both technical capability and human impact? The brand needed to unite stakeholders from across the food industry who shared a common goal but had very different day-to-day needs and concerns.

Approach

Through strategic workshops at the team’s office in Newcastle, I created a powerful brand strategy which revolved around uniting the food industry around food data. Naomi developed a visual brand identity that balanced technical authority with accessibility, and I crafted messaging that demonstrated how better data sharing creates safer spaces for people with allergies and dietary requirements.

The visual and verbal identity we created reflected a dual focus on precision and accessibility. Through detailed brand guidelines and carefully crafted website content, we helped Erudus communicate their vital role in the food safety ecosystem.

We created a brand that united diverse stakeholders around a common purpose: making food information more accessible and reliable for everyone who needs it. Erudus’ new brand is a great example of how a clear brand strategy can help a highly technical solution provider communicate its human impact and social value.

In the end…

“It was a real pleasure to work with Naomi & Rose. They very quickly they became an extension to our team, sharing their expertise and offering guidance at every turn making what we perceived as an extremely large and daunting task really straight forward and very exciting! We’ve arrived at a brand that we are truly proud of and gives us the confidence, functionality to showcase our services and open up to new sectors.
